Transforming the exterior
1914 Craftsman Bungalow
She wasn't pretty when we first met. But she had great bones. We found her in a small town just north of McKinney, TX. She sits on nearly an acre. We can sit on the front porch for all the parades, homecoming, Christmas- its small town magic. From our back deck the view is amazing! Rolling pastures and beautiful sunrises. We are the third owners of this gem with both of the former owners living here for more than 50 years........ EACH. The family that we purchased the home from are still here in town. They organize the annual Christmas caroling which our homes owner organized nearly 20 years ago! The number of people that join in on the caroling has grown over the years. They arrive on a large flat bed trailer with bails of hay for seats pulled by our homes former owners grandson. It is a wonderful treat we look forward to every single year.

Choosing the color "Moody Blue" for the porch floor was inspired by my husband's performance of "Nights in White Satin" with his band. The name evokes beautiful memories of his music, making it the perfect choice for our home! :)
The things you can't see that where updated probably cost more than all the things that made her pretty again
Leveled foundation- added two support beams
Replaced all electrical
Replaced water/sewer lines
Replaced gas lines
We begin the journey by restoring her exterior and bringing back her craftsman beauty.
If you have ever tried to pick paint colors for the exterior of your home, you know the pain! It is something you have to live with for years.
For us, we had an entire town watching this restoration, stopping by to introduce themselves, say Hi and ask if they could take pictures : ) I had to get it RIGHT
